PARIS, September 17, 2025 (WAFA) – Britain and France condemned the Israeli occupation's attack and aggression on Gaza City.
British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the Israeli attack on Gaza City is barbaric and heinous, and will only increase the bloodshed.
Cooper added in an official statement last night: "The new offensive operation by the Israeli army in Gaza is barbaric and heinous, and will cause more bloodshed, kill more innocent civilians, and put the lives of hostages at risk."
She pointed out that the current situation calls for urgent action to stop the bloodshed, protect civilians, ensure unrestricted access for humanitarian aid, release all hostages, and work towards a lasting and sustainable peace.
Cooper stressed that the international community must assume its responsibilities in pressuring the Israeli occupation to halt its attacks, warning that the continued military escalation exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and threatens the stability of the entire region. She affirmed that London will continue to cooperate with its international partners to ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry affirmed that the humanitarian and health situation in the Gaza Strip is extremely dangerous, with residents suffering from famine and a lack of access to basic necessities and emergency medical care.
The ministry called on the occupying authorities to immediately lift all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and to resume negotiations as soon as possible with the aim of reaching a ceasefire.
