RAMALLAH, September 16, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates today welcomed the report issued by the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which it stressed, proves beyond any doubt that Israel, the illegal occupying power, has committed the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip through a deliberate, wides-cale policy aimed at their systematic destruction.

The Ministry said in a statement that the damning facts contained in the report build on earlier findings, including those of the International Court of Justice, and reflect an unprecedented level of brutality and determination to destroy Palestinian lives and existence, amounting to a full-fledged genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

It warned that the current situation in Gaza foreshadows an unbearable humanitarian catastrophe, as the occupying power continues to perpetrate the most heinous violations in blatant defiance of ICJ rulings and the will of the international community.

This, the Ministry stressed, places a legal and moral obligation on all High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions and to the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide to act immediately and urgently.

The Ministry further underlined the necessity of referring Israeli political and military officials, as well as terrorist colonists, to the International Criminal Court to hold them accountable for their crimes and to ensure they do not evade justice.

It stressed that the continued silence of the international community over these horrific crimes renders it complicit and constitutes a grave threat to international peace and security.
