European Parliament warns of Gaza’s collapse, calls for immediate ceasefire and full aid access

RAMALLAH, September 11, 2025 (WAFA) – The European Parliament adopted a resolution addressing the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, voicing deep concern over the spread of famine and shortages of food, water, and medicine.

The resolution called on Israel to fully and safely open all crossings for humanitarian aid and to ensure the protection of civilians, medical personnel, and relief workers.

It stressed the need for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, along with the resumption of funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), a lifeline for millions of Palestinians.

The Parliament affirmed that Gaza is on the brink of collapse and that the European Union has a key role to play in confronting famine and advancing the political process towards a two-state solution, as the only way to resolve the Palestinian issue.
