RAMALLAH, September 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh on Tuesday stressed the priority of halting Israel’s relentless genocidal aggression on Gaza.
Vice President al-Sheikh made his comments during a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Vice President al-Sheikh briefed Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan on the latest developments in the Palestinian area, the US ban on visa applications for Palestinian passport holders, and the means to expand the wave of international recognition of the Palestinian state in the upcoming international conference.
They reviewed the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and reiterated the need for the unimpeded access of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip, reconnecting the Strip with the West Bank, and commencing Gaza reconstruction.
They touched upon the grave situation in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Israeli colonist attacks, Israel's scheme to annex large swaths of the West Bank, the ongoing withholding by the occupation authorities of the Palestinian tax revenues, and the stifling blockade.
They affirmed the importance of continued coordination between the State of Palestine and the Republic of Türkiye, enhancing efforts at the international level, and keeping the international conference on the implementation of the two-state solution, scheduled on September 22 at the UN headquarters in New York, unchanged.
