RAMALLAH, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Belgium considered the United States' revocation of visas for several Palestinian officials, preventing them from participating in next month's UN General Assembly meetings, calling the move a "blow to diplomacy."
In a statement posted on X, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévost described Washington's decision as "deeply regrettable."
He added,"At a time when the two-state solution has gained new momentum, concrete commitments have been made, and international support is growing, silencing the Palestinian voice is not only unjust but counterproductive."
The Belgian minister emphasized that the United Nations must remain a platform for all peoples, "especially those whose future depends on dialogue."
He emphasized that "excluding Palestinian representatives undermines the principles of multilateralism and international law. The path to peace requires more dialogue, not less."
