RAMALLAH, August 28, 2025 (WAFA) - Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, met today with British Consul General Helen Winterton to discuss the latest political developments in light of the ongoing genocidal war waged against the Gaza Strip and the escalating colonists’ violence in the West Bank.
During a meeting held in Ramallah, Sheikh emphasized the importance of the United Kingdom’s recognition of the State of Palestine and the need to implement international legitimacy resolutions and uphold international law to end the occupation and achieve a just peace.
The two sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of President Mahmoud Abbas to the United Kingdom, as well as the ongoing arrangements for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York this September.
