RAMALLAH, August 18, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced the revocation of the residency visas for Australia’s representatives in Palestine, confirming that he had instructed the Israeli embassy in Canberra to "carefully examine any official Australian visa application to enter Israel."
The decision came in response to Australia's revocation of the visa of Knesset member Simcha Rothman the day before his arrival to attend a Jewish community conference.
The Australian Department of Home Affairs confirmed that it would ban the entry to anyone who promotes divisive and hateful rhetoric.
