Jordan condemns Netanyahu’s remarks on blocking Palestinian statehood, his incursion into the West Bank

AMMAN, August 18, 2025 (WAFA) – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the Israeli Prime Minister's incursion into the occupied West Bank and his statements about preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state from one of the illegal colonial outposts built on occupied Palestinian land.

The Ministry described such statements as a flagrant violation of international law and a challenge to the international will to support the two-state solution.

The Ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory. He affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued provocative practices and statements by extremists in the Israeli government, which perpetuate the occupation and illegal colonial outposts.

"These practices violate international law and UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem."

The Ministry also denounced the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and the invalidity of the annexation of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Ambassador Qudah warned against the continued illegal unilateral measures and unilateral statements and actions by the Israeli government aimed at imposing new facts on the ground by force, and the continued implementation of its expansionist plans in the occupied West Bank and its escalation in the region.

According to Qudah, such plans encourage the continuation of cycles of violence and conflict. This requires a clear international stance condemning them and warning of their dire consequences for the security and stability of the region.

He reiterated his call on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel and its extremist government to halt its aggression against Gaza, its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, and the inflammatory statements of its officials.

He also called for providing the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, fulfilling their legitimate rights to establish an independent, sovereign state on their national soil, and halting the crimes committed against them and holding their perpetrators accountable.
