CANBERRA, August 18, 2025 (WAFA) – Australia has decided to ban extremist Israeli Knesset member Simcha Rothman from entering the country to attend a Jewish community conference in the coming days, due to his support for the occupation and his dissemination of a culture of hatred and division.
The Australian Ministry of Home Affairs stated that it has decided to ban the entry of anyone who spreads messages of division and hatred.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the Australian authorities' decision, considering it consistent with international law, human rights principles, international legitimacy resolutions, and signed agreements. It also represents a step in the right direction toward achieving peace and resolving the conflict through peaceful political means.
It urged all countries to take further measures to stop incitement to occupation, hatred, racism, genocide, starvation of our people, and settlement activities. This will ensure an end to the Israeli aggression against Palestinian people, the implementation of the two-state solution, and the achievement of the desired peace between the countries and peoples of the region.
