COPENHAGEN, August 16, 2025 (WAFA) - Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated on Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has become a problem, adding that she intends to exert pressure on Israel regarding the Gaza conflict while Denmark holds the EU presidency.

“Netanyahu is now a problem in himself,” Frederiksen said, adding that the Israeli government was going too far in its war on Gaza, referring to the Israeli cabinet’s approval on August 8 of a plan proposed by Netanyahu to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip.

She also slammed the appalling and catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and the new colonial settlement project in the occupied West Bank.
