LONDON, August 11, 2025 (WAFAA) - The British government voiced serious concern regarding the ongoing attacks on journalists in Gaza, after an Israeli airstrike resulted in the killing of six reporters, including four Al Jazeera journalists.
During a press briefing on Monday, a spokesperson for the British Prime Minister said: “Reporters covering conflicts are afforded protection under international humanitarian law, and journalists must be able to report independently, without fear, and Israel must ensure journalists can carry out their work safely.”
This came following the killing of six journalists in an Israeli airstrike targeting their tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City on Sunday evening.
“We are gravely concerned by the repeated targeting of journalists in Gaza,” he told reporters.
