JEDDAH, August 8, 2025 (WAFA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' decision to reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip and forcibly displace about one million Palestinians from Gaza City and the north of the Strip to the south.
The OIC, in a statement, considered this decision an escalation in the ongoing series of genocidal crimes, destruction, starvation, displacement, and blockade of the Gaza Strip.
The organization emphasized that these crimes constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and a blatant challenge to the relevant United Nations resolutions and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, including the provisional measures ordered by the Court.
The statement held Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for the consequences of these crimes, which exacerbate the unprecedented human suffering in the Gaza Strip.
The OIC also strongly condemned the dangerous escalation in the crimes of extremist colonist groups, carried out under the protection of the occupation forces, in the West Bank, including ongoing colonial settlement expansion, land confiscation, demolition of houses, repeated attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites, and the continued seizure of Palestinian tax revenues, considering these actions as flagrant violations of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
The organization called on the UN Security Council to take immediate and decisive action to assume its responsibilities towards imposing a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, ensuring the entry of sufficient and unhindered humanitarian aid and basic needs to all parts of the Gaza Strip, providing effective international protection to the Palestinian people, taking the necessary measures to end the Israeli occupation, and enabling the Palestinian people to embody the sovereignty of their independent state on the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
