CAIRO, August 8, 2025 (WAFA) - Egypt on Friday condemned the Israeli approval of the plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued by its Foreign Ministry on Friday, Egypt said the decision aims to entrench the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands, continue the genocidal war in Gaza, eliminate all aspects of Palestinian life, and undermine the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent Palestinian state, and liquidate the Palestinian cause.
Egypt described the decision as a blatant and unacceptable violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
It reaffirmed that Israel’s continuation of the policy of starvation, systematic killing, and genocide against the defenseless Palestinian people will only fuel the conflict, increase tensions, and deepen hatred and extremism in the region, which have already worsened due to the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the unprecedented humanitarian disaster it has caused in the Strip.
It called on the international community, including the UN Security Council and all relevant parties, to fulfill their political, legal, and moral responsibilities and take urgent action to halt Israel’s policy of aggression and abuse of power aimed at imposing facts on the ground, undermining prospects for peace, and destroying the chances for a two-state solution.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry stressed that security and stability for both Israel and the region can only be achieved through the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
