BERLIN, July 18, 2025 (WAFA) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz renewed his call for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stating that the current situation is “no longer acceptable.”
Speaking at a press conference in Berlin on Friday, Merz urged Israel to allow the immediate entry of humanitarian aid to Palestinians, amid ongoing European diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis.
He stressed that “The actions in the Gaza Strip are no longer acceptable to us,” adding that Germany is pushing for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of comprehensive humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
