GAZA, June 27, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 11 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured early Friday as Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks continued to pound the southern Gaza Strip, targeting displaced civilians, residential neighborhoods, and aid seekers.
According to local sources, Israeli warplanes bombed a makeshift tent sheltering displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, killing Dr. Ayman Suleiman Abu Tair and his niece Amira Mohammed Abu Tair. The physician had lost his wife, children, and mother in earlier strikes during Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on Gaza.
Three more Palestinians were killed in drone attacks on Bani Suheila and Sheikh Nasser neighborhoods east of Khan Younis. Among them was 23-year-old Hamada Mohammed Saleh Al-Aqqad. Another person was killed in a separate Israeli air raid targeting the town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis.
Meantime, medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex confirmed that at least 11 bodies have been received at the facility since the early hours of Friday, all victims of ongoing Israeli bombardment across southern Gaza.
In Gaza City, fisherman Hassan Ali Maqdad was shot and killed by Israeli naval forces. His body was transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex.
Further north, Israeli forces shelled the Shuja’iyya and Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, while also detonating explosive-laden robots to demolish buildings near Masoud Street in eastern Jabalia.
In central Gaza, Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported receiving the body of one Palestinian and 43 wounded after Israeli strikes targeted crowds of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid on Salah Al-Din Street, south of Wadi Gaza.
Simultaneously, Israeli artillery shelled parts of Khan Younis and carried out additional demolition operations in the northern sections of the city, causing widespread destruction.
The Israeli military has intensified its assault across Gaza in recent days, with attacks now frequently targeting displaced families, health professionals, aid distribution points, and residential areas.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 54,249 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 123,492 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
