Abdullah II warns of Israeli escalation in West Bank, reiterates rejection of attempts to displace Palestinians

AMMAN, April 22, 2025 (WAFA) – King Abdullah II of Jordan warned on Tuesday of the Israeli escalation in the West Bank and reiterated rejection of the attempts to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, according to the Jordanian Royal Court.

King Abdullah II made his remarks during two separate meetings with a delegation from the French Senate and a delegation of United States Senate and House of Representatives staff at the Husayniyah Palace in the capital, Amman.

During the meetings, Jordan’s monarch discussed the recent regional developments, with a focus on the immediate need for reinstating the Gaza ceasefire and resuming aid flow.

He warned of the dangers of continued Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank and violations of holy sites in Jerusalem, reiterating Jordan’s rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

He also discussed the need to protect the rights of minorities in the region, with an emphasis on the importance of Jordan’s efforts to protect the Christian presence in the Middle East.
