Jordan condemns Knesset members' incursion of Jerusalem's Aqsa Mosque

AMMAN, April 17, 2025 (WAFA) – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned  Thursday the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by members of the Israeli Knesset, the Noble Sanctuary, coinciding with the provocative actions carried out by extremists during their incursions.

The Ministry considered this step as a dangerous and unacceptable escalation, an unacceptable provocation, and a violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the historical and legal status quo there.

The Ministry's official spokesperson, Sufian Qudah, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the repeated incursions by members of the Israeli Knesset and large numbers of extremists into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"These incursions represent an exacerbation of the dangerous situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, a violation of Israel's obligations, the occupying power, in occupied Jerusalem, and an attempt to impose a temporal and spatial division."

He emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The judges called for a firm international stance obligating Israel, as the occupying power, to cease its ongoing violations and illegal practices against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as its violations of the sanctity of these holy sites.
