UK Minister of State for the Middle East: Only 10% of Gaza's residents have access to safe drinking water

LONDON, March 17, 2025 (WAFA) - UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Commonwealth, and the United Nations, Tariq Ahmad, emphasized that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is dire, with only 10% of the population having access to safe drinking water.

In a press statement, he added that the Israeli blockade has hindered the delivery of aid to Gaza, stressing that Israel must work to prevent the exacerbation of suffering.

The UK minister urged the occupation to lift the restrictions imposed on humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

It is worth noting that the crossings of Kerem Shalom and Beit Hanoun (Erez) have been closed for 16 days, resulting in a complete halt of aid.
