PLO official attends meeting in Doha to discuss Gaza reconstruction plan

DOHA, March 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee Hussein Al-Sheikh attended on Wednesday a meeting to discuss the Gaza reconstruction plan in Doha.

 Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee Al-Sheikh participated in the meeting hosted by Qatar to discuss the three-phase plan for Gaza’s reconstruction, adopted by the extraordinary Arab League summit, held recently in Cairo.

Besides Al-Sheikh, the meeting was also attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi; Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal bin Farhan; Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdel Aty; United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar, in addition to US President's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.

The Arab foreign ministers presented the Gaza reconstruction plan approved by the Arab Summit on March 4, 2025, and agreed with the US envoy to continue consultations and coordination on it as a basis for reconstruction efforts in the Strip.

The ministers emphasized the importance of consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, and the need to make genuine efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution in a manner that guarantees the fulfillment of the Palestinian people's aspirations for freedom and independence.

The Arab ministers reiterated their commitment to continuing dialogue to promote calm and joint action to consolidate security, stability, and peace in the region through intensified diplomatic efforts and coordination with various regional and international parties.
