DUBLIN, February 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Irish Minister of State for International Development and the Irish Diaspora, Neil Richmond, warned of the deteriorating situation in the West Bank as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression for more than a month, stressing the need to fully implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Richmond said in his speech at the high-level segment of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva: "We must continue to focus on the deteriorating situation in the West Bank."
He added: "The ceasefire agreement must be fully implemented in all its stages."
Richmond added: "Humanitarian aid must also continue to enter the Strip on a large scale, and basic services and a framework for the return of internally displaced persons inside Gaza must be provided."
He also stressed that "only a two-state solution can bring lasting peace."
