Jordan's FM and Arab League Chief emphasize need to prevent further deterioration of situation in occupied West Bank

AMMAN, February 23, 2025 (WAFA) - Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, emphasized the need to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the occupied West Bank and to halt the unlawful Israeli measures that threaten to escalate tensions.

The discussions also centered on strengthening ceasefire initiatives in Gaza and ensuring the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid.

During a meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, both officials opposed the displacement of Palestinians and expressed support for Egypt's reconstruction plan for Gaza, which aims to enable residents to remain in their homes.

The officials reiterated that a sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the only path to regional peace, said Petra.
