NABLUS, December 24, 2024 (WAFA) - Three Palestinians were injured and a fourth was detained after the Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Nablus and Balata camp to the east at dawn on Tuesday.
The Red Crescent said that its crews dealt with two injuries after storming Balata camp, and provided first aid to a young man who was injured by shrapnel from live bullets, and to a woman aged 49, who was injured as a result of being beaten, before they were transferred to the hospital, while a third was reported to have been injured by live bullets and was later detained by the occupation forces as the ambulance crews were prevented from reaching him.
Security and local sources reported that an occupation army force stormed the city of Nablus and Balata camp to the east, through the Awarta checkpoint, amidst gunfire and explosions.
They added that the occupation forces surrounded a house in Al-Tirawi neighborhood inside the camp, and detained a youth and spread out in several neighborhoods inside the camp.
The Director of Education at UNRWA announced that based on the situation in Balata and Tulkarm camps, and in order to guarantee the safety and lives of students and teaching staff, school will be postponed until 8:30 and the situation will be monitored on the ground.
In addition, the sources indicated that the occupation forces stormed the western area of Nablus city from the Deir Sharaf and Al-Murabba checkpoints, raided a house in Al-Makhfiyya neighborhood, and raided a residential building near Al-Ain camp, and sounds of confrontations were heard in the area.
No detentions were reported, however.
