Gaza: Israeli troops force patients to evacuate hospital in Beit Lahia

GAZA, December 24, 2024 (WAFA) - The Israeli occupation forces forced patients and wounded to evacuate the Indonesian Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, at dawn on Tuesday.

Local sources reported that the occupation is besieging the hospital and forcing patients and wounded to evacuate, coinciding with artillery shelling targeting the hospital's surroundings and various areas of Beit Lahia and the Beit Lahia Project.

The sources indicated that patients and wounded were forced to leave on foot towards Gaza City.

Medical sources said that the occupation is intensifying its targeting of the health system in the northern Gaza Strip, by besieging and directly targeting the Indonesian Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital during the past hours and its insistence on putting them out of service.

The sources indicated that the occupation's bombing targeted all departments of Kamal Adwan Hospital and its surroundings around the clock without stopping, and shrapnel was scattered inside its courtyards, causing terrifying sounds and severe damage, amid an appeal to all international and UN institutions and concerned parties to urgently intervene to protect the health system in the Gaza Strip, in the face of this fierce attack by the occupation.

The Israeli artillery also targeted the third floor of Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, causing severe damage inside it, while the occupation's air force launched a raid on the Tal al-Zaatar area in Jabalia camp.

The occupation forces continued to carry out bombing operations in the southern area of Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupation forces have continued their aggression on Gaza from land, sea and air, which has so far resulted in the killing of 45,317 citizens and the injury of 107,713 others, including a large number of children and women.

The numbers are expected to rise in light of the presence of thousands of missing people under the rubble, while rescue teams face enormous difficulties in reaching all affected areas.
