PRCS announces the killing of two of its crews in an Israeli airstrike on Rafah

GAZA, Thursday, May 30, 2027 (WAFA) - The Palestine Red Crescent Society today announced the killing of two of its crews in an Israeli airstrike targeting the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, bringing the number of PRCS`S crews killed in the ongoing Israeli airstrikes to 19 since October 7th.

Israel has been waging a war on Gaza that has left more than 117,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

The association said in a post on X, “Our crews were able to recover the bodies of paramedics Haitham Tubasi and Suhail Hassouna, who were targeted by the occupation last night in the Tal al-Sultan area, west of Rafah.”

PRCS said that the Israeli army "directly bombed a Red Crescent ambulance in Tal Al-Sultan while they were performing their humanitarian duty."

Within 48 hours since Sunday evening, Israel committed a series of massacres against displaced people in areas west of Rafah that it previously claimed were “safe,” despite the issuance of an order from the International Court of Justice to immediately stop the ongoing ground attack in the city since May 6.

These massacres resulted in the killing of 72 Palestinians, according to Palestinian sources, and 200 dead, according to a UN official. The discrepancy in the outcome is due to Rafah’s hospitals being out of service and the presence of many critical injuries without medical intervention.

Since the start of the war, the Israeli army has deliberately destroyed the health system in Gaza. This has put many hospitals out of service. It caused the death of wounded and sick people, according to Palestinian and UN data.

For the 18th year, Israel has besieged the Gaza Strip, and its war forced about two million of its residents, numbering about 2.3 million Palestinians, to flee in catastrophic conditions, with severe scarcity of food, water, and medicine.

Israel continues the war on Gaza despite orders from the International Court of Justice to immediately stop the ground attack on the city of Rafah and to take temporary measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip.

Israel also ignores the International Criminal Court’s intention to issue international arrest warrants against its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and its Defense Minister, Yoav Galant. For their responsibility for “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” in Gaza.
