Israeli occupation forces close checkpoint ahead of Palestinian traffic in Tubas

TUBAS, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 (WAFA) - This morning, Israeli occupation forces shut down the Tayasir military checkpoint, located east of the town of Tubas in the northern West Bank, ahead of the Palestinian traffic, causing a traffic jam.

Human rights activist Aref Draghmeh reported that the Israeli army closed the checkpoint in both directions, blocking the movement of Palestinian vehicles and commuters between the northern Jordan Valley and the town of Tubas.

The checkpoint has been almost entirely closed since yesterday, following the fatal shooting of a Palestinian young woman by Israeli occupation forces.

Tayasir checkpoint straddles the sole road connecting the town of Tubas and nearby villages to the villages and Bedouin communities of the northern Jordan Valley.
