Lama Ghosheh ends 10 months of house arrest.

JERUSALEM, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 (WAFA) – An Israeli court in Jerusalem today ended the 10-month house arrest imposed on Palestinian journalist Lama Ghosheh and ordered her to do nine months of community service.

She was also handed six months suspended sentence for three years, in addition to paying a fine of 4,500 shekels (app. $1200).

Ghosheh's lawyer, Nasser Odeh, said he will appeal the verdict.

Ghosheh, a resident of occupied East Jerusalem, was arrested on allegations of incitement against the occupation through her writings. Her phone and personal computer were also confiscated.

Following her release from prison, she was placed in September of last year under house arrest and banned from using social media.
