HEBRON, Saturday, May 27, 2023 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces today forced Palestinians to stop work on rehabilitating the Carmel-Tawana road in Masafer Yatta in the south of the occupied West Bank, and detained workers and vehicles claiming work is being done in Area C, which is under full Israeli military rule.

Ratib al-Jabour, coordinator of the popular and national committees to resist the wall and settlement, said that the occupation forces stopped the work on a road serving the residents of al-Carmel and al-Tawana in Masafer Yatta and the town of Yatta, and also detained workers and vehicles.

Israel does not allow Palestinian development in Area C, which makes up over 60 percent of the area of the West Bank, and uses it for settlement construction only.
