JERUSALEM, September 5, 2025 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation authorities today forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his own home in the neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukaber, south of occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the Israeli municipality forced Shadi Obeidat to carry out the self-demolition of his home under the pretext that it had been built without a permit.
Palestinian citizens of occupied Jerusalem are frequently forced to demolish their homes themselves under the pretext of lacking building permits. Those who refuse face demolition by Israeli bulldozers and are also required to pay the municipality hefty demolition costs.
