RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 04, 2023 (WAFA) – Weather today in Palestine is hot and dry, with a significant rise in temperaturebecoming 5°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and sea waves are low.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 20°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 28°C and a low of 19°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 36°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Another rise in temperature is expected on Friday, becoming 8°C above the seasonal average; hence weather is expected to be very hot, dry and dusty at times.
Saturday's weather is expected to be mild as weather is expected to signficiantly drop, approaching 3°C lower than the seasonal average.
Partially cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold conditions are expected to prevail on Sunday, with another drop in temperature, becoming 5°C lower than the seasonal average.
The PMD warned citizens against direct exposure to the sun for long period, particularly during peak hours from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
