JORDAN VLALLEY, Sunday, April 9, 2023 (WAFA) – For the third day in a row, the Israeli occupation army continued today to tighten its restrictions on Palestinian drivers and commuters travelling through the northern Jordan Valley region of the occupied West Bank.
Local sources told WAFA that the Israeli occupation army completely shut down the military checkpoint of Hamra, which straddles the road connecting the northern cities of Jenin, Tubas and Nablus with the central province of Jericho, blocking the movement of the Palestinian traffic through the checkpoint.
The Israeli occupation army also imposed a curfew on the nearby village of Furusf Beit Dajan, banning the movement of Palestinian vehicles and passengers in and out of the village.
In addition, the Israeli occupation army tightened its inspection of Palestinian commuters and vehicles driving through the military checkpoint of Tayasir, in the Jordan Valley region, resulting in traffic jams and delays.
Yesterday, Israeli bulldozers blocked with earth mounds and heavy concrete cubes several roads leading to the north-south route 90 in the Jordan Valley. The Israeli army also blocked with concrete cubes the road connecting the villages of Khirbet Ibzeeq and Bardala, in the farthest north of the Jordan Valley.
On Friday, Israeli media reports claimed that two colonial Israeli settlers were shot to death not and a third critically injured near the Israeli checkpoint of Hamra.
