HEBRON, Friday, April 7, 2023 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians were injured and four others arrested by Israeli occupation forces last night during Israeli military raids in Hebron province, south of the West Bank, according to local sources.

Mohammad Awad, a local Palestinian activist, told WAFA that an Israeli occupation army force stormed Khallet el-Ein neighborhood in the town of Beit Ummar, where they raided and searched several homes and arrested two Palestinians.

One of the two detained, identified as Feras Abu Maria, was brutally assaulted and beaten up by Israeli soldiers in front of his family who raided their home to arrest him, Awad added.

Confrontations erupted between Israeli occupation forces and local Palestinian protesters as a result of the Israeli raid and detentions in the town, during which Israeli soldiers fired live bullets and teargas canisters at the protesters, injuring two of them in the pelvis and right thigh bone respectively.

The two injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, where their conditions were described as moderate to critical.

At least two more Palestinians were reported arrested by the Israeli occupation army in Beit Ummar and the town of Yatta, south of the province.
