BEIRUT, Thursday, April 6, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli artillery attacked targets in southern Lebanon on Thursday afternoon, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said. No casualties were reported.
NNA said several shells were fired by Israel from the border towards the outskirts of the two villages of Qlaileh and Maaliyeh.
Earlier today, Israeli media reported that some 30 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into the Israeli settlements in the north in what seems to be the most significant security incident in southern Lebanon in years.
The escalation comes in the aftermath of Israeli police attacks on peaceful Palestinian worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, Islam's third-holiest site, amid warnings that the Israeli attacks on the holy site during Ramadan are fuelling tensions around the region.
