NABLUS, Sunday, February 26, 2023 (WAFA) - Israeli forces today raided a Palestinian school for girls in the village of al-Luban ash Sharqiya, to the south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, and removed the Palestinian flag.
Aeysha Noubani, head of the Luban ash-Sharqiya High School for Girls, said that the Israeli soldiers raided the school and removed the Palestinian flag hoisted up the flagpole present inside the school courtyard.
She added that the school staff intervened and kicked the soldiers off the school's property.
Attacks on education by Israeli military forces and Israeli settlers in Palestine constitute grave violations of children’s rights to education and development. These attacks are particularly prevalent in the most vulnerable areas of the West Bank – Area C, H2, and Jerusalem.
Over 700,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only colonial settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
