HEBRON, Thursday, January 5, 2023 (WAFA) - Israeli forces today removed a fence surrounding a Palestinian plot of land atop Sundad mountain, south of the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to WAFA correspondent.
He said that Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers, barged their way into the mountain, which overlooks the southern part of the city, where the heavy machineries removed the fence surrounding a land plot belonging to Yuasri al-Jamal and partially leveled it.
The landowner, al-Jamal, said that after having confiscated a part of his land, the occupation authorities were preventing him from cultivating and carrying out construction works on the land, which covers 4.5 donum area, in an attempt to confiscate it fully.
In August 2022, at the time when al-Jamal making preparations to turn his plot of land into a park, an army force stormed it and confiscated all the tents, tables and chairs he had purchased for this purpose.
The “Civil Administration” is the name Israel gives to the body administering its military occupation of the West Bank.
Soldiers in the oxymoronically named Civil Administration determine where Palestinians may live, where and when they may travel (including to other parts of the occupied territories like Gaza and East Jerusalem), whether they can build or expand homes on their own land, whether they own that land at all, whether an Israeli settler can takeover that land among others.
