NABLUS, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians suffocated today evening during clashes that erupted between Palestinian residents and the Israeli occupation forces at the entrance to the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
The occupation forces fired a barrage of stun grenades and tear gas canisters at residents, who gathered at the entrance of the town to confront possible settlers' attacks, following calls made by the so-called Samaria Regional Council to organize a settler march in Nablus under the slogan of “We want a Jewish state.”
At least 28 people were treated at the scene from tear gas suffocation.
Ghassan Daghlas, who is in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, affirmed that the settler march set off from the Za'tara military checkpoint towards the Hawara checkpoint, in addition to other gatherings at the crossroads between the governorates of Nablus, Qalqilya and Salfit.
