RAMALLAH, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 (WAFA) – The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine decreased by 0.10% in 2020 compared with 2019, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said today.
Prices of WPI for 2020 decreased due to the decrease in the prices of fishing goods by 2.22%, mining and quarrying group by 1.56%, and manufacturing group by 0.24%, while the prices of agricultural goods increased by 0.23%.
The prices of imported products decreased by 1.00%, while the prices of local products increased by 0.68% compared with the previous year.
The overall WPI in Palestine recorded a sharp decrease of 1.63% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared with the third quarter.
WPI for local products showed a sharp decrease of 3.88% in the fourth quarter compared with the third quarter 2020.
WPI for imported products remained constant in the fourth quarter compared with the third quarter 2020.
