THE NAQAB, Saturday, December 05, 2020 (WAFA) – Charging the Israeli police with indifference regarding the rise in crime and killings in the Palestinian communities in Israel, reports said today that victim number 90 was claimed so far this year with the killing of a 23-year-old man in the town of Rahat, in the Naqab desert in the south of Israel.

Palestinians said Yousef Abu Sitta, who was going to get married next month, was shot and killed during a fight in the town.

The killing came only two hours after another Palestinian youth was shot and killed in the Arab village of Kabol in the Galilee in northern Israel.

The Palestinian indigenous population in Israel, who make up around 20 percent of the Israeli population, have accused the police of not doing enough to stop the rise in crime, particularly murder, and the proliferation of illegal weapons in the Arab communities while acting quickly and swiftly to fight crime in Jewish towns.

Arab 48 news website said that 90 Palestinians in Israel were killed this year in criminal acts, among them 17 women, and that police have charged suspects in only 21 incidents.
