NAZARETH, Saturday, August 29, 2020 (WAFA) - With the 56th Palestinian victim among the Arab communities inside Israel claimed last night, Palestinians attribute the rise in crime in their communities to Israeli police leniency and carelessness in fighting crime in their cities and towns.

Samir Abu Fadel, 24, was shot in his car and severely injured in Kufr Qassem, a Palestinian town in northern Israel. He was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Abu Fadel was victim number 56 since the start of this year among the Palestinian communities in Israel. Before him, Ahmad Rayyan, 56, was also shot dead in  Kabul village on August 23.

According to local Palestinian leaders, Israeli police lax and discrimination in handling crime in the Arab communities have given rise to shooting incidents and killings. They said that if a crime was reported in a Jewish community, the perpetrators would have been apprehended within hours, while in the Arab communities, the perpetrators, even though known to the police, remain free in their societies.
