VILNIUS, October 21, 2013 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Monday met with president of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, in the presidential castle in the in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
Abbas discussed the Middle East peace process with the president of Lithuania, who is the current head of the EU presiding member state Lithuania.
The meeting was followed with an
expanded meeting which was attended by Ambassador of the State of Palestine in
Lithuania Nabil al-Wazeer, Presidential Spokesperson Nabil abu Rudeineh, and
Abbas’ Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Al-Khalidi.
Abbas also met with
Lithuania’s Prime Minister, Algirdas Butkevičius and discussed the latest
developments in the peace process, the ongoing negotiations between the Palestinian-Israeli
sides, and difficulties faced due to the Israeli policies on the ground.
Abbas arrived in Lithuania on Sunday
on an official visit.
