RAMALLAH, May 9, 2012 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted in their Wednesday issue Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s’ announcement of a broad coalition government.

Al-Ayyam and al-Quds reported on Netanyahu’s announcement of the new coalition after Kadima, under Shaoul Mofaz, has joined the Likud, leading to call off early elections, which were expected to be held on September 4.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida highlighted international and Palestinian concern over striking Palestinian prisoners who are facing grave danger following deterioration in their health.

The three papers printed photos of Palestinians demonstrating across the West Bank in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on the European Union denouncing administrative detention and the International Red Cross calling on Israel to transfer six striking prisoners to hospital.
