RAMALLAH, May 3, 2012 (WAFA) – Attorney Jawad Boulus, who represents striking prisoners in Israeli jails, Bilal Diab and Thaer Halahleh, said Thursday that the Israeli high court has postponed a ruling on appeals by both prisoners for release.

The court said it will rule for both appeals at another time and gave clear instructions to the prison administration to provide medical care for Diab and Halahleh.

The two prisoners, who have been on hunger striking for 65 days in a row to protest their administrative detention, are suffering severe health deterioration.

Boulus said Diab collapsed in the court and was examined by Arab Knesset member Ahmad Tibi, who is a physician and who was attending the hearing, since the prison administration did not provide a doctor during the hearing.

Boulus stressed that administrative detention was not legal according to international law and called on the court to release them.

The prosecution claimed that both prisoners represent a danger for the security and safety of Israel.
