Abbas, Japan’s Foreign Minister Discuss Peace Process

AMMAN, May 2, 2012 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas discussed Wednesday with Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba the latest in the Middle East peace process, particularly Israel’s settlement activities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Abbas received Gemba in the Jordanian capital Amman where they discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them.

Abbas had visited Japan on April 12 where he held official talks.

Gemba had earlier met Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in Ramallah where they discussed the political and financial situation of the Palestinian Authority.

Fayyad told the Japanese minister that the Palestinian people are inspired by Japan’s drive toward freedom and state building and from its economic development.
