Israelis Destroy Water Cistern in Hebron

HEBRON, May 2, 2012 (WAFA) - Israeli forces Wednesday destroyed a cistern used for collecting rain water in al-Baqa’a area, east of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources.

They told WAFA that Israeli soldiers, bulldozers and officers from the civil administration, the arm of the military government in the occupied West Bank, raided al-Baqa’a area, which is adjacent to the settlement of Kiryat Arba, and demolished a cistern that can collect up to 2000 cubic meters of water.

Israeli authorities repeatedly target the agricultural infrastructure in the area to force its owners to abandon it in order to take over the land for settlements’ expansion.
