Family Worried about Palestinian Held in Emirates

RAMALLAH, April 30, 2012 (WAFA) – Family and friends of a Palestinian teacher and businessman from Gaza arrested in the United Arab Emirate Monday appealed to the president of UAE, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to secure his release.

In a front page ad published in the local Palestinian newspaper, al-Quds, the family said Hasan Abu Shaban, 58, was arrested on March 10 from his home in al-Sharja without any reason.

It said Abu Shaban suffers from cardiac hypertrophy, diabetes and high blood pressure, expressing deep concern for his life if he is not released immediately.

Abu Shaban has been a resident of UAE for 30 years, working as teacher and in contracting business.
