RAMALLAH, April 5, 2012 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian dailies Thursday highlighted tenders submitted by the Israeli Ministry of Housing to build 1121 housing units, mostly in East Jerusalem.
The three papers reported that 872 housing units will be built in East Jerusalem settlements while the remaining 249 units will be built in West Bank settlements and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Al-Ayyam featured the Palestinian Authority condemning the Israeli Housing Ministry tenders, stressing that such actions do not encourage resumption of negotiations.
Al-Hayat focused on the meeting between President Mahmoud Abbas and United States peace envoy David Hale in Ramallah, and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad’s upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deliver to him a letter from Abbas on the peace process.
