Al-Quds prime headline reported that the Arab League called on Arab countries to provide a financial safety net of $100 million per month to the Palestinian authority, in light of its current financial crisis.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida also featured this item on their front page, along with President Mahmoud Abbas’ address to the Arab League foreign ministers, during which he stressed that the Palestinians will send messages to the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the world to clarify the basis of negotiations’ resumption.
Al-Quds featured the clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli special forces in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Issawiya, highlighting the Israeli brutal assault targeting al-Issawi family, and the interrogation of two members of the family.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida also focused on similar violent clashes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, as well as the death of a Palestinian and several injuries in Israeli raids targeting neighborhood across the Gaza Strip.
The three dailies reported on a new Israel law to grant tax concessions up to 35% on donations to support settlement activities.
Al-Ayyam said on its front page that the heavy Palestinian presence in al-Aqsa compound in East Jerusalem thwarted a provocative Israeli tour of the compound planned by Israeli right-wing lawmakers from the ruling Likud party.
Al-Quds editorial slammed critics of naming Abbas as head of the new reconciliation government in the recent Doha agreement between Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Mishaal, describing the critics as “opposed to national unity.”
