RAMALLAH, December 3, 2011 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) Sunday condemned Israeli targeting of Palestinian journalists and jeopardizing their lives during news converge in the field, according to a press release.
It said the Israeli army has been escalating its measures against Palestinian journalists by arresting or attacking them, which is part of an Israeli plan to “terrorize journalists and prevent them from doing their job.”
It said Israeli soldiers arrested Associated Press photojournalist, Majdi Shtayyeh, and Palestine TV cameraman, Mohammad Radi, while covering demonstrations and activities in Nabi Saleh, a village near Ramallah, and physically abused them.
PJS called on international and regional journalists’ unions and media organizations to take an urgent action to stop the Israeli violations against rights of Palestinian journalists guaranteed by international laws.
