TULAKRM, November 26, 2011 (WAFA) – Five children, all brothers and sisters, were killed while four others of the same family were injured in a fire that engulfed their house in Quffin, a village northeast of Tulkarm, a civil defense report said Saturday.
The children, two girls and three boys - between the age of five and 12 years - died in the fire which broke out in their house while asleep when candles that were left lit at night caused fire in their bedroom, said the report.
The father, Bassam Harasheh, his wife, eldest son and daughter-in-law suffered from smoke inhalation while attempting to save the children. They were taken to hospital for treatment, said the report.
The deceased were identified as the two girls, Aseel and Suhair, and the boys, Ahmad, Mahmoud and Mo’men Harasheh.
