CAIRO, November 24, 2011 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader, Khalid Meshaal, met Thursday in Cairo to discuss the political situation and achieve the reconciliation.
PLO Central Committee Member, Azzam al-Ahmad, told WAFA this meeting will address issues related to the reconciliation and means to achieve it.
He added, “We are very optimistic that this meeting will result in very essential outcomes.”
He said the meeting will discuss the future of the Palestinian Authority, the situation in Jerusalem, the reactivation of the PLO on a broader basis and the reformation of the Palestinian National Council.
