RAMALLAH, November 23, 2011 (WAFA) – Ministry of Health Wednesday announced that Palestine became a member of the Transplantation Society (TTS), according to a press release.

It said the Palestinian membership was granted during a TTS workshop on organs transplantation held recently in Barcelona, in which a delegation of the ministry participated.

Head of the public relations in the ministry, Omar Naser, said a total of 28 kidney transplantations were successfully conducted in Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.

These operations are free of charge if a first relative donate the organ.

Such operations were conducted previously outside the ministry of health’s facilities and cost the state exorbitant sums.
